Golden West Swim
Club’s swimmers saw lots of time dropped at last weekends
meet at Mission Viejo. Personal bests were set in 55 races by
21 different swimmers. Anya Arzaga, Emme Barlett, Kevin
Francis, Thomas Gillespie, Emma Hartigan, Alexis Linares, Serena
Ly, Abram Marvel, Asael Marvel, Lucinda Marvel, Mark McDermott,
Matthew McDermott, Matthew Roe, Andrew Rofael, Angela Rofael,
Miranda Rouse, Sydney Rouse, Melanie Salgado, Natasha Salgado,
Stephanie Tafakji, and Nathan Torres all saw improvements in at
least one event.
In addition to the
personal bests, several swimmers achieved new qualifying
times. Four swimmers, Arzaga, Francis, Gillespie, and Marvel
all made Summer Junior Olympic times. McDermott qualified
made qualifying times for the June Age Group Invitational and for
the Winter Age Group Invitational.
