Several members of Golden West Swim Club were
included in the final rankings for the 2008-09 National Age Group Top 10
Rankings, which
were released by USA Swimming this week. Cindy Tran, Kelsey
Cummings and Cynthia Fascella had top ten individual
performances.
Tran achieved three
top times in the age 16 rankings. She ranked first in the 100
Back (SCY) and third in the 200 Back (SCY). In the long
course 100 Back she ranked 10th.
Fascella's
performance at the CIF Championships earned her a ranking as
well. Her winning time of 22.99 in the 50 Free (SCY) ranked
her seventh in the nation.
Cummings's
performance in the 800 Free at NCSA Junior Nationals
(8:51.43) also cracked the top ten. She finished ninth in the
nation among 16-year-old girls.
In addition
individual rankings, several GWSC relays were among the nations
elite. The 200 Free Relay (LCM) that included Shelby Webber,
Fascella, and Tran was the eight fastest 15-18 relay last
year. Cummings, Webber, Fascella and Tran also teamed up for
a fifth place ranking in the 400 Free Relay (LCM).
