Golden West Swim Club competed among the
nations best at the 2009 Speedo Junior National Championships held
last week in Federal Way, Washington. Led by strong relays,
GWSC finished 26th with 33
points.
GWSC highest finish came in the 400 Free
Relay. The team of Shelby Webber, Cynthia Fascella, Kelsey
Cummings and Cindy Tran combined for a 6th pace
finish. They finished with a time of
3:53.01.
The same quartet also competed in the 800 Free
Relay were they finished 24th and the 400 Medley Relay
where they finished
35th.
On the individual side, Fascella led the
team. In the 50 Free she placed 12th touching in a
time of 26.42. She also finished 20th in the 100 Free with a
time of 57.54. Cindy Tran also scored individually. She
finished 16th in both the 100 Fly (1:02.99) and the 100
Back (1:04.61).
